YJM – Mr. Y. Jean Marais is a visionary business leader with over 30 years of global experience spanning mining, commodity trading, digital transformation, e-commerce, and corporate consulting. As the founder, group CEO, and president of YJM Virtuoso Group, he oversees a diverse portfolio of businesses, serving as CEO of YJM Executive Consultants, YJM Commodity Trading, YJM Digital, and multiple e-commerce ventures.
His extensive career includes executive and operational roles in gold, nickel, and ferronickel operations across South Africa, Mali, Ghana, North Macedonia, and the broader Balkans, where he led large-scale projects, optimized resource management, and drove sustainable growth. Additionally, he has provided technical support in Namibia, Guinea, Tanzania, Australia, Brazil, and Argentina, gaining expertise in integrated planning, business process improvement, and supply chain optimization.
Beyond his work in mining and commodities, he is a driving force in digital innovation and e-commerce. Through YJM Digital, he spearheads technology-driven business solutions, helping organizations embrace digital transformation. As CEO of multiple e-commerce businesses under YJM Virtuoso Group, he leads strategic expansion and market-driven initiatives across various retail sectors.
